This indenture made the seventh day of April in the year of our Lord, one thousand, eight hundred and sixty-eight between David Langill of Tatamagouche Road in the County of Pictou, yeoman, and Elizabeth his wife, of the one part and David Tattrie, David Mingo and David Langill [aforesaid], Trustees of School Section No. 10, North Pictou, and his successors in office, all of Tatamagouche Road and in the County of Pictou aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that in consideration of the sum of sixteen dollars of lawful money of Nova Scotia to them in hand paid by the said David Tattrie, David Mingo and David Langill on or before the execution of these presents, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, they, the said David Langill and Elizabeth his wife, have and each of them hath granted, bargained, sold, aliened, enfeoffed, released, conveyed and confirmed and by these presents do and each of them doth grant, bargain, sell, alien, enfeoff, release, convey and confirm unto the said David Tattrie, David Mingo and David Langill, Trustees of School Section No. 10 aforesaid and to their successors in office, all that certain lot or piece of land situate, lying and being in the settlement of Tatamagouche Road, in the County of Pictou, abutted, bounded and described as follows.

Viz - Beginning at a stake on the north side of Main Road leading to Tatamagouche, thence running north five rods, ten feet and four inches, thence west eight rods to a stake, thence south to said road five rods, ten feet, four inches to a stake on boundary of said road, thence westerly along said road eight rods to place of beginning, containing one quarter acre and five rods, the same and being laid out and to be occupied for school purposes with all and singular the privileges and appurtenances to the said lot or piece of land belonging or in any wise appertaining and the revisions and remainders, rents, issues and profits thereof and also all the estate right, title, interest, property claim and demand whatsoever, both at law and in equity of them the said David Langill and Elizabeth his wife, and all the dower or thirds or right or title to dower or thirds of her the said Elisabeth, his wife, into, out of or upon the same or any part or parcelthereof.

To have and to hold the said lot or piece of land and premises with the appurtenances unto them the said David Tattrie, David Mingo and David Langill and the successors in office forever. And the said David Langill doth hereby, for himself, his heirs, executors and administrators covenant, promise and agree to and with the said David Tattrie, David Mingo and David Langill and their successors in office as follows. That is to say, that at the time of the execution of these presents he, the said David Langill, is lawfully seized of an indefeasible estate in fee simple of and in the lot or piece of land and premises with the appurtenances hereinbefore described and hereby sold and conveyed or intended so to be and that he hath good right, full power and lawful authority to sell and convey the same in manner and form as they are herein and hereby sold and conveyed or intended so to be.
And also that the said David Langill, his heirs, executors and administrators unto them the said David Tattrie, David Mingo and David Langill, Trustees of School Section No. 10 and their successors in office and for the purpose hereinbefore mentioned, the said lot or piece of land and premises with the appurtenances and every part and parcel thereof against the lawful claims and demands of all and every person or persons whomsoever will warrant, maintain and forever defend by these presents.

In witness whereof the said parties to these presents have hereunder set their hands and seals at the day and year herein before written.

Received on the day of the date of the foregoing instrument from David Tattrie, David Mingo and David Langill [Trustees] therein named the sum of sixteen dollars of lawful money of Nova Scotia, being the full consideration mentioned to be paid by them to me.

Be it remembered that on the twenty-sixth day of November in the year of our Lord, one thousand, eight hundred and sixty-eight before me one of Her Majesty's Justices of the Peace, for the County of Pictou, there personally appeared, Elizabeth Langill and wife of David Langill, parties to the foregoing instrument, who being by me examined acknowledged that said instrument was by her executed for the purposes therein set forth and that freely involuntarily, without force or compulsion on the part of her husband.

I do certified that William Wilson a subscribing witness to the within instrument came personally before me and made oath that he was present and witness to the execution of the same by the parties whose names and seals are hereunto set.
