Married Sarah (Sally) LOVI(E)LL, 13 Dec 1816, Surry Co NC,
Isaac GARRET(JARRATT0, bondsman.
Died before 1836. Listed as deceased in Isaiah's will. Probably died before 1822. His name was missing from the 20 Nov 1821 deed. See Nancy (Ann) COE below.

Feb 1818 - Giles H COE, guardian, gave an accounting for the estate of Armstead LOVELL, who was a minor when his father died in 1816.

Giles' daughter Lucinda (COE) KIRKPATRICK, b ca1818 (wife of Thornton KIRKPATRICK) inherited $100 from her grandfather Isaiah.

Daughter Sarah COE, b ca 1820, Surry Co. NC, went to TN.
Son Charles COE, b ca 1822, Surry Co. NC, married Lucy, went to TN.
[The above is from Dollye Martin. I wonder if it might be a misunderstanding of the names on the 20 Nov 1821 deed.
Sarah & Charles are not mentioned in Isaiah's will.]

MARY COE rin 177 ID 121.6
Born 1791/93 if she is the Mary WEBB listed in the 1850 federal census of the southern district of Surry Co NC, family #1198, listed as living alone, 57 or 59 years old, $1,000 value of real estate, and could read and write.
Married Mr. WEBB, who died before 1836. Mary was listed as a widow in Isaiah's 1836 will. Their son John WEBB was co-executor of
Isaiah's will.

CHARLES COE rin 173 ID 121.7
Born abt 1794
Married Lucinda (Lucy) LOVELL [per LOVELL family history in HERITAGE OF SURRY CO. Not in Surry Co. marriage bond records. Date not known.]
Died after 20 Nov 1821. Deed with siblings of Lucinda shows him to have been in Tennessee on that date. [See Nancy for full deed].
Died before 1836. Isaiah's will shows him as being deceased.
Each of his children inherited $200 from grandfather Isaiah:
Jackson Jemima Lucinda Catharine William

CATHERINE COE rin 178 ID 121.8
Born abt 1796
Married Daniel SCOTT, Jr. 23 May 1818; Francis PETTITT, bondsman [Surry Co. NC]. They probably had one child, Catherine SCOtt.

Apparently she had died before 9 Mar 1821; that is when Daniel W. SCOTT
married Elizabeth FLIN in Surry Co. The 1850 census Dade Co MO lists
Daniel SCOTT 53, Elizabeth SCOTT 47, James 13 & Jasper 6. Other SCOTTs nearby: Emerson 30, Radford 26, Daniel 24. It's possible that Emerson
might be Catherine's son, but he was not listed in Isaiah's 1836 will.

1836 -Isaiah's granddaughter Catharine SCOTT inherited 167 acres, 2 slaves, 9 livestock, personal property, & a share of the remainder
22 May 1841 - Catherine SCOTT to George NEWMAN for $225, land on Yadkin River, 166 acres willed to Catherine by her grandfather Isaiah COE. Wit. Samuel SPEER & Aaron STINSON.

NANCY (ANN) COE rin 175 ID 121.9

I believe that Ann & Nancy are the same person - that the names were interchangeable. The same practice appears in the family of John & Elizabeth COE.
Some researchers list Ann as having married Armstead LOV(I)ELL; but Surry Co. marriage bond records list Nancy, as does the LOVELL family history in THE HERITAGE OF SURRY CO by Gladys Lovell Uptegrove.
The confusion seems to have originated from a gift of 200 acres on Forbes Creek from Isaiah COE to Ann LOVELL abt 1823
[Surry Co NC Deed Book Q-277 or R-123?]
Then in 1836, after Armstead LOVELL had died and Nancy had remarried to Mr. BURRIS, the following document appears: "Nancy (X) BURRIS of Overton, TN, appoints her son James B. LOVELL of said Overton Co. to sell a tract of land in Surry Co., NC, conveyed to said Nancy BURRIS by her father Isaiah COE." [Surry Co NC Deed Book X-146]. It appears that this refers to the gifted land. Nancy did not receive any land from Isaiah's 1836 will, and Ann is not mentioned at all.

Born abt 22 Dec 1797 [Per Carlene Brown]
1st marriage to Armstead Franklin LOVI(E)LL 13 Jan 1816; bondsman Francis PETTIT. [Surry Co., NC]
2nd marriage to Mr. BURRIS/BURRUS, who died before 1836.
Died 2 Nov 1882 Clay Co TN [Per Carlene Brown]

20 Nov 1821, Armstead signed a deed in TN with some of his siblings and their spouses:-- Armistead LOVELL, Sally COE, Charles COE & wife Lucy, of the state of Tenn. sell lamd to John Davis & wife Jane, and Thomas J. LOVELL of KY, sell land to Joseph LOVELL of Surry Co. for $1,000; all the several tracts of land hereafter mentioned; 100 acres on Yadkin R. part of a 300 a. tract conveyed by Adonijar Harbour to Edward LOVELL, Dec., and being the dower laid off for Sarah, his wife. 2nd tract of 240 a. conveyed to Edward LOVELL by Jesse LESTER bearing date of May 15 1804; also part of Sarah LOVELL's dower laid off by Samuel SPEER. 3rd tract, on Logan's Cr. conveyed to Edward LOVELL by Isaac WILBORN 5 Sep 1796. Armistead LOVELL & Sally COE signed by mark, and the others signed. [Surry Co NC Deed Book Q-277 or R-123, per DM]

Nancy's son James B. LOVELL was co-executor of his grandfather
Isaiah's will.
