Alexander Duncan and Catherine Jolly were married June 8, 1817, in New Machar Parish, Aberdeenshire, Scotland, per LDS IGI

Alexander and Catherine witnessed christenings of John and Ann Peters' children: Alexander on 9 Feb 1848; Catherine on 15 Jun 1847

Catherine's death certificate: She died 14 Mar 1857 (age 69) at Old Deer. She was a widow, and her parents were Robert Jolly and Ann Logan.

The 1861 census lists Robert Duncan, age 35, Widower, Former Farmer, living in the Poor House (which had a large population).

The 1881 census lists James R. Peters, age 14, as a servant in the home of Keith and Mary (Duncan) Slesser. She was his great aunt.
