John H Leemhuis 1852-1945 was married to Ida May Wright in Erie Pennsylvania in 1880. They lived in northeast Pennsylvania and seven years and then in Erie Pa. for 3 years. In 1890 they moved to Blue Earth, Minnesota where he started a shoe store and was in business for many years.

He served on the city council of Blue Earth, MN. And was secretary of the St. Paul's Lutheran Church for 32 years.
