Australian Price / Pow / Jurd / Farr Family History

This site has been set up to provide information on the family trees of my husband and me and our ancestors. Most of the information on this site relates to the families once they had immigrated to Australia. I have made every effort to trace the families as far back as I could.

As time permits I attempt to keep this site and my database as up-to-date as possible. If you notice broken links or inconsistencies please let me know. I'm always happy to chat with a distant relative.

These families are:

JURD - The family Jurd in Australia is descended mainly from the convict Daniel Jurd, who was transported to Australia at the age of 15 for stealing a ham.

PRICE - The family Price, in this case, are my ancestors who were descended from Isaac Canter Price, an itinerant stone mason.

POW - My mother's family - immigrated to Australian in 1924 from Lanark, Scotland.

BOXSHALL - This is the family of my grandmother. They immigrated to Australia in 1842 and were among the early pioneering families of Victoria.

FARR - Comparatively recent arrivals to our fair shores, the Farrs arrived in Australia around 1920.

PERKINS - A history of the family of Richard Perkins, the convict who arrived aboard the Hillsborough in 1799. Also included is a brief history of other Perkins who arrived during the first fifty years of the colony of NSW.
