Probate*21 March 1825 Probate action was taken on David's estate on 21 March 1825 at Norfolk Co., Virginia
Research note*24 May 2004 David was probably a grandson of Robert Culpepper Jr. of Norfolk, but which of Robert Jr.'s sons was his father is unclear.

Since David didn't mention his children by name in his will they are largely unknown. Perhaps Norfolk tax records around the time of his death would shed more light on them. Or their father might have been mentioned in their Norfolk death record, if any.

David was probably not a son of Robert Jr.'s son Daniel Culpepper, since he was not mentioned in Daniel's will.

Research note*31 May 2004 That David was the son of Joseph Culpepper and Margaret Willoughby is a matter of conjecture.
His apparent brothers, Benjamin and John both named sons Joshua, and Joshua was a known son of Josph P. and Margaret, from his marriage record.
His marriage license (and the two of his brother John) should be checked to see if any of them mention the names of parents.
