At that time in history folk could go east, cross Stouts Creek and come out at the Luther Culpepper farm. That road has long been closed.
The family moved to the newly purchased farm of 72 acres and we know for sure Guy, Aubrey and Mattie were born at this location. In 1916 James Bradford built a new house where this old house once stood.

(Lavyn Wright) Sisco wrote 3 that Cora and her younger sisters "could plow with mules as well as any boy."
In 1908, Cora married Hurley Lee Richey and they settled down to raise their family in Texas. Cora lost her husband of 42 years in 1950. In 1963, Cora married a second time and she lost her second husband 11 years later. Cora died in 1980 at the age of 87. |

Biography* | | Ruthy May was only a few months old when she was noted in 1900 census records for Sulphur Township, Grant Co., AR and this is probably where she was born. When she was about two years old, her parents moved the family to Hopkins Co., TX and this is where she was noted as a 10 year old child in 1910 census records.
Ruthy May married John Chester Combs in August of 1917 but she died the day after Christmas that same year a little over a month after her 18th birthday. |
