Biography* The following is from p. 2 of the Weekly Moultrie Observer for 8 Feb 1979: Cooper Rites Held In Pavo Funeral rites for Denise Cooper were held, at graveside Wednesday afternoon in Lebanon Cemetery in Pavo with Reverends Tom Davis, Carl Dunn and Father Bernard Murphy officiating. Pallbearers were Tommy Dunn, Randall Nash, Dewayne Hudson, Tom Miller, Joey Slater, Norris Cooper. Chris Rogers and Timmy Slater. Miss Cooper died Sunday at Ft. Gordon hospital after a lengthy illness. She was 14 years of age. Miss Cooper was the daughter of Chief Warrant Officer Lavaughn Cooper of Fort Gordon and Mrs. Agnes Chitty of Verona, Italy. Miss Cooper was a native of Thomas County. She had resided at Fort Gordon for the past several months. Other survivors include two sisters, Monica Cooper of Thomasville and Cheryl Cooper of Verona, Italy; two stepbrothers, Dwayne Hudson of Fort Gordon, Trey Burgess of Thomasville; and a half brother, Dennis Chitty of Verona, Italy; and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Cooper of Pavo.
