TIVOLI - Leland Landry Culpepper, 78, of Tivoli, died Monday, July 4, 2005. He was born Oct. 4, 1926, in Wharton, to the late Jimmy Nathaniel and Nancy Emmaline Culpepper. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving with the U.S. Army, and a life member of VFW Post 6290.
     Survivors: wife, Leara Jean "Beicker" Culpepper; daughters, Carol Payton of Tivoli, Linda O'Riley of College Station, and Becky Espinosa of Woodsboro; sons, Larry Culpepper of Victoria, Jimmie Culpepper of Refugio, Theodore Culpepper of Tivoli, and Gene E. Culpepper of Dilley; sister, Addie "Teen" Culpepper Whitter of Cornwell, Pa; 22 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.
     Preceded in death by: three sisters, two brothers, and one grandson. Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. today at Moore Funeral Home chapel. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Thursday. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery. Moore Funeral Home, Refugio, 361-526-4334.3

He was preceded in death by his wife Ruth, in 1996. Mr. Culpepper is survived by a son: Robbie Culpepper of Houston; 2 daughters: Cheryl Logan of Anderson, Ind. and Brenda Davison of Bastrop; a sister: Myrtie Potter of California; 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.9,10

     She was a member of Primitive Baptist Church of Phenix City.
     Survivors include one sister, Mrs. Ola KROPFF of Columbus, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Britton & Dobbs of Columbus.1 
Burial*31 January 1959 Her body was interred on 31 January 1959 at Patrick Memorial Cemetery, Columbus, Muscogee Co., Georgia.7,8

     The widow of Dutch KROPFF, Mrs. KROPFF had lived here 65 years and was a member of the Primitive Baptist church.
     Survivors include several nieces and nephews.

     Funeral for Mrs. Ola CULPEPPER KROPFF will be held at 3 p.m. today at the Striffler-Hamby Chapel with the Rev. Joel SMITH officiating. Burial will be in Patrick Cemetery.
     Pallbearers will be U. L. CAIN, George HANLION, Bud WARD, Marcus ROWE, George ROSS, Otis NOWLING and Robert MARTIN. Honorary pallbearers will be great-nephews.
     Survivors include five nieces, Mrs. Luther MILLER, Mrs. Jack LOLLAR, Mrs. Susie BROWN and Misses Dessie and Sally CULPEPPER, all of Columbus; and three nephews, Charlie CULPEPPER, Columbus; Ed CULPEPPER, Tex; and Jim GASTON, Fla.
     Mrs. KROPFF, 83 786 Turner Road, was born Aug. 2, 1881, in Brantley, Ala., a daughter of the late Edmond and Sarah MORGN CULPEPPER. She was the widow of Peter KROPFF.

Obituary*4 February 1914 Mrs. Lillie GASTON, 2_ years old, died yesterday morning at 12:40 o'clock, at the family residence at 610 Fourteenth street, after an illness of a month, during which she was surrounded by her many friends who were anxious to do all in their power to bring about her restoration to health. Her untimely death was a source of deep grief to her relatives and friends.
     Mrs. GASTON is survived by her mother, Mrs. S. J. CULPEPPER, one son, James R. GASTON, one brother, John CULPEPPER and three sisters, Mrs. Lemma WEBB, Mrs. Ella CULPEPPER and Mrs. Ora CULPEPPER. The funeral services will be conducted from the home this afternoon at 1 o'clock by Elder J. W. BULLARD, following which the body will be taken by private conveyance to the Patrick cemetery five miles east of the city for interment.4 
Burial*4 February 1914 Her body was interred on 4 February 1914 at Patrick Memorial Cemetery, Columbus, Muscogee Co., Georgia.4

Obituary*28 September 1909 SUDDEN DEATH OF MRS. LENA WELCH:
Well Known Young Matron Died Before Aid Could Reach Her.
     Mrs. Lena WELCH, the wife of Mr. J. T. WELCH, died very suddenly at her home, 1317 Eleventh avenue, yesterday morning at 8 o'clock. Mrs. WELCH had just finished eating breakfast. She repaired to her bedroom, and not returning in a reasonable time, her husband went in search of her and found her lying on the floor. Before he was able to lift her to a couch she was dead.
     Mrs. WELCH was only 21 years of age and was well known in the neighborhood in which she lived. She was a young woman of many fine traits of character, and her death will cast a shadow over many homes in the community. She had been married only about eight months.
     Besides her husband, she is survived by her mother, Mrs. S. J. CULPEPPER, and also by one brother and four sisters, all of whom reside in this city.
     The funeral will take place from the late residence this morning at 9 o'clock, the services being conducted by the Rev. Harry B. ALLEN, and the interment will be in the Patrick burying ground, five miles east of the city.4
