Biography* Lamar served in the military 1946-1948. Lamar was ill Anaheim, CA, 1968. Lamar was ill c1980. Lamar was ill Las Vegas, Nevada, 1987. "Dad and Uncle Fred left Alabama during the 2nd World War and ended up in Southern California. Dad worked for Herco Foundry, McDonnell Douglas and the last twenty some years for the Southern California Gas Company until his retirement to Las Vegas. Had a neck ballooning surgery. After 3 heart bi-passes and the neck procedure, Dad still enjoys a normal lifestyle. They receive a lot of friends and relatives into their home. Dad enjoys wlaking his dog everyday and they go for dinner a lot and to shows and travel the countryside. My father walks on water as far as we are concerned. Strong, corny-joke loving, helpful to everyone and can do anything. Brought us up the old fashion way, yet gave us enough rope to feel we were independent. A religious man. Baptist. I could never say enough about my dad.2

"I used to spend near every weekend with Uncle Fred and Aunt Lil as a child. The folks played cards and we got to watch tv. (Black and white of course)....Uncle Fred was sooo funny. he always made us laugh (my sister, brother and I). Uncle Fred spent time with us too. Once he bought my brother a toy plane. You remember the kind that used gasoline and you held them with a string while they went around in a circle? Well, my brother (10 at the time) had the plane but as soon as he got it going he hollered at Fred, 'I am afraid I am going to crash it.' So Fred hollered back, 'then give it here. At which point Uncle Fred crashed the plane. We all laughed. Uncle Fred took me to my first baseball game. I got to see the old L.A. Dodgers."
