Biography* Lawrence was known as "Larry" and the following account was written by his sister-in-law, Dorothy Nash Roberts: Larry was a descendant of one of the founders of Belcherstown, MA. A printed genealogy of the family can be found in many genealogy libraries. He served in the Marine Corps in WWII, and was a government employee for several years both before and after the war. When he left government service in about 1953, he took his retirement fund and they moved to Long Beach, California, where they started a business of their own. He and Evelyn worked very hard and the business prospered. They lived in San Diego County during the summer months and in the desert - Rancho Mirage - during the winter months. Larry died of cancer, and his body was cremated.
