Sharon Knight was killed in an automobile accident when her car left highway 67 approximately 2 miles east of James Bowie High School. When Sharon's car left the road she struck a tree. A passing truck driver saw the wreck and stopped. As I was told Sharon was trying to find her brother, Eddie Knight. The truck driver searched for Eddie but did not find him. The truck driver had to leave Sharon to get help. I believe that her mother Ouida Knight was able to reach the hospital before Sharon passed away. As it turned out Eddie was not in the car at the time of the accident.
[ I was not raised in church as a child. However, my mother always talked to us about the bible. I can remember has a child mother would tell us to try to never stay mad at someone because you never know if that person or yourself will pass away without being able to say "I AM SORRY". Sharon was my best friend during our Sophomore, Junior, and half of our Senior year at James Bowie High School. When Sharon was killed she was mad at me for something that was so minor I never have been able to figure out exactly what I did to make her mad. I wonder if I said something to someone else that hurt her feelings, I wonder if she just stopped wanting to be my friend, I wonder if I did something she did not like: I JUST WONDER..... It has been 37 years, 7 months, and 8 days and the WONDER never goes away. I don't believe there have been very many days in that 37 years, 7 months, and 8 days that I have not longed to say whatever it was "I AM SO VERY SORRY, AND I STILL LOVE YOU AS MY SISTER" There has been times in those long years that I have reached out to the one person that knows WHY but she turns her back on me still to this day. For everyone that reads this love and treat everyone as your brother or sister. Please do not be caught up in the obvious hate that the one person that could help me still feels for me. I WAS ONLY 18 YEARS OLD WHEN I LOST SHARON BUT THE HURT IS STILL THERE AS TEARS STREAM DOWN MY FACE AS I TELL THIS STORY. I love you Sharon........ Deborah Clark Hooks ]1
