Obituary* | 3 June 2010 | CECIL E. NOEL, age 74, of Lake Station, passed away Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at Saint Mary Medical Center. Cecil was born on July 28, 1935 in Trigg County, KY to Rev. Carl and Bessie Noel. He married Jean Culpepper on September 25, 1959 in Centerline, MI. Cecil spent 34 years working as a foreman in the quality control of the chemical department of Inland Steel. He was very involved in his church, Eastlake Baptist, and served as a Trustee for several years. Cecil can also be remembered for his commitment to the Lake Station Little League and the years he spent as manager. Cecil was a die-hard Chicago Cubs and Kentucky Wild Cats fan, and enjoyed spending time golfing. Cecil is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Jean; sons, Mark (Dianna Polizzotto) Noel and Matthew (Beth) Noel all of Hobart; grandchildren, Tyler Noel, USAF stationed in Honolulu, HI, Taylor Noel of Crown Point, and Joshua Marroquin of Hobart; brothers, J.B. (Ida) Noel of Cadiz, KY and Tommy (Nancy) Noel of Troy, MI; sister, Bettie (Ken) Hamilton of Warren, MI and other loving family and friends. Cecil was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Carl and Bessie Noel. Memorial contributions may be made to Eastlake Baptist Church. A funeral service for Cecil will be Saturday, June 5, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Eastlake Baptist Church, 7121 E. Lincoln Hwy., Crown Point, with Dr. Rick Hillard officiating.1 |
