King Hiram and Betsy lived in the area which is now Kentucky Lake in TN., raising nine children plus four of his brother's children, whose names and ages (in 1850) were Samuel 16, Lucinda 14, John 10, and Pernesy 8. (Believed to be children of Samuel Marion CAPLINGER and Martha CARTER)

King Hiram CAPLINGER died September 24, 1863 in Petersburg, VA prison hospital, as a result of pneumonia from the Civil War. Rebecca Elizabeth or Betsy\Sarah KIRBY CAPLINGER died about 1887 in Terresita, Shannon, Missouri, is buried in Camden, Benton Co., TN, George Cemetery.

ITEM - I give to my son NOAH McPHERSON my Plantation whereon I formerly lived containing fifty acres more or less, one bed and furniture, two cows and calves and two hundred dollars special to him and his heirs forever.

ITEM - I give to my son ARTHUR McPHERSON two cows and calves, one feather Bed and furniture, one young Mare by the name of Lucy with saddle and bridle, twenty barrels of corn, and twenty five dollars in cash, to him and his heirs forever.

ITEM - I give to my son JESSE McPHERSON two Cows and calves, one feather Bed and furniture and two hundred dollars cash to have and his heirs forever.

I also give to my three above named sons. Viz: NOAH McPHERSON, ARTHUR McPHERSON & JESSE McPHERSON, corn and Pork sufficiently to last them until the first day of November next. 15 July 1836 Feb. Ct. 1837 - Camden Co. Daniel McPherson, son, Robert; father, Jesse. Test: J.N.McPherson and Jesse-------.James N. McPherson, friend.

Jesse McPherson was in Camden Co. Also Arthur McPherson, son of Andrew McPherson, Jr., died in Curr. Co. At Feb. Term of Court 1824, Arthur Culpepper was appointed guardian of Wm., Andrew and Mary Ann McPherson, children of Arthur McPherson. Later their mother, Nancy, was apptd. gdn. and she moved to Camden Co. (Family has been documented.)
Note that James Fisk witnessed Andrew McPherson, Jr. will.3
