Harrel/Harrod Arnold was received by Piney Grove Primitive Baptist Church by letter on February 10, 1865 at age 58.... Records would indicate that Sarah Mims Arnold passed away between 1850 and 1864.

In the community was Elizabeth Armstrong who was born August 10, 1833, the daughter of Moses Armstrong (born 1775 in South Carolina) and his wife Elizabeth ____________ (born in South Carolina in 1775). Moses Armstrong was a Primitive Baptist Minister and preached at Old Shiloh, a now disbanded church for over 100 years a mile north of the Abbie Creek in Henry County on the old Columbia to Abbeville Road (County Road 53)on the east side of the highway. Elder Moses Armstrong is buried at Old Union Cemetery a few miles north near Union Freewill Baptist Church.

Elizabeth Armstrong married Edward Whiddon on October 12, 1851 in Henry County, Alabama. Edward and Elizabeth Armstrong Whiddon had only one daughter, Elizabeth Whiddon who was born Christmas Eve, 1855. Ten years after his marriage to Elizabeth Armstrong, Edward Whiddon ... joined the Confederate Army.... Edward lost his
life in 1862 or 1863.

Now a widow with an eight-year-old daughter, Elizabeth ARMSTRONG married the widower Harell/Harrod Arnold on May 2, 1864. The following year Harrell/Harrod joined Piney Grove Church by letter from another church. The couple's daughter Elizabeth Whiddon married Posey Kirkland on December 1870. The church received Elizabeth Armstrong Whiddon Arnold May 13, 1871 by profession of faith and baptism. The couple had three children,
Bud, Charley, and Lucy Jane (who married Wilburn W. Folsom in Henry County on January 21, 1892). Brother Harrell/Harrod Arnold's earthly life in the church was brief as he died in 1872.

Narcisssa Arnold was received by letter to Piney Grove by letter June 8, 1867. Jordon (J.J.) Arnold and his wife Sarah Caroline Culpepper were received by baptism and profession of faith June 9, 1888. In conference, the church dismissed the couple just three years later by letter as they had apparantly move to another church.

After Harrell/Harrod Arnold died, Elizabeth ARMSTRONG Whiddon Arnold married Willis Brown on November 4, 1874....
