     Those of us researching this line, think that John Gaylor was the son of the Rev War Soldier, James Gaylor, and that Sarah Downey was the d/o the Rev War Soldier Joseph Downey.2,1

County, Md., she was the widow of William A. Culpepper. She was a former officer manager of Marine Salvage Co. and retired pastor's secretary of Talbot Park Baptist Church. Mrs. Culpepper was a charter member of Talbot Park Baptist Church. She was a member and senior past matron of Ocean View Chapter No. 34, Order of the Eastern Star and a charter member of Mace Court No. 9, Order of the Amaranth. Survivors include a daughter, Patricia C. Powell and her husband, Floyd H. Powell Jr., of Norfolk; a son, Martin Albert Culpepper of El Paso, Texas; five grandchildren, Amy-Lynn Morgan and her husband, John, of Chesapeake, Wendy Patten and her husband, John, of Norfolk, F. Henly Powell III of Virginia Beach, William Culpepper of El Paso, Beth Ann Edwards of Texas; three great-grandchildren, Abby Morgan, Justin Patten, both of Norfolk,
and Ryan Edwards of Texas. A service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Talbot Park Baptist Church by the Rev. W. Thomas Wood. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, is handling arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Arthritis Foundation or to the Dodge-Powell Scholarship Fund of the Order of the Eastern Star, P.O. Box 6633, Richmond, Va. 23230. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today.4

     Martin, a pilot in the Navy during World War II, later served in the Air Force and with the Department of Defense, retiring from Ft. Bliss in 1991. He worked evenings at radio station KTSM. A long time member of the Kiwanis, he served the members of his community. He was a Christian man that truly valued his relationship with Christ, and loved his church. Family was his life. He loved his wife, children and grandchildren very deeply. They will miss him dearly.
     Survivors: Loving wife of 21 years Cindy; Sons: Bill and wife Terri, Justin Vinson, and Mike Ritter; Daughters: Beth Edwards and husband Kyle, and Heather Vinson; grandchildren Faith, Bailey, Ryan, Brett, Josh, Cailey, Savannah, Callum; and sister Patricia Powell.2

     Mrs. Culpepper was the wife of the late Noah E. Culpepper. A native of Washington County, she moved to Macon early in life and worked as a cosmetologist. She was a charter member of Wheeler Heights Baptist Church where she served faithfully until her health failed.
     Survivors include a daughter, Saleta Williams; granddaughters, Wendy D'Ambrosio (Chris) and Jamie Williams; great-grandchildren, Shay Suddeth and Kyle and Logan Wilkinson.
     Hart's Mortuary has charge of arrangements.2 
Burial*14 May 2008 Her body was interred on 14 May 2008 at Middle Georgia Memory Gardens, Macon, Bibb Co., Georgia.2

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 28th, at Crowell Brothers Peachtree Chapel Funeral Home in Norcross. Burial will follow at Corinth Memorial Gardens in Loganville. The family will receive friends Thursday, August 27th, from 6:00-9:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Paulette Smith was a Ward Clerk and a member of Winters Chapel United Methodist Church in Doraville. Preceded in death by her husband, Millard R. Anderson, she is survived by two sons, Brian Smith of Atlanta and Jason Smith and his wife, Renee, of Loganville; daughter, Sonya Barnes of Loganville; mother, Jo Culpepper of Doraville; two brothers, Larry Culpepper of Snellville and Terry Culpepper of Eatonton; sister, Barbara Boles of Duluth; and three grandchildren, Cody Barnes, Blake Barnes, and Kaitlyn Smith.
