She later married Joseph Stokes, remaining his wife until she died on June 16, 1982 in Elba, Coffee County, Alabama. She is also buried in New Providence Cemetery, Glenwood, Crenshaw County, Alabama. Mary Alice and Joseph Excell Sandley had two sons Joseph E. Sandley & William Donald Sandley Sr.
     William Donald Sandley Sr was born on October 7, 1944 in Andalusia, Covington County, Alabama and died on January 21, 1995 in Mason, Ingham County, Michigan. He married Mary Evi Corley, daughter of Howard Rodgers Corley and Mary Magdalene McGuinty. They married in 1965 in Montgomery, Mongtomery County, Alabama. They had two children from that union: my eldest brother William Donald Sandley, Jr and myself April Dawn Sandley.2

Inventory and appraisement of property of the deceased was was presented before Jesse G. Rollo, JP, on 13 Jan 1863. The appraisers were Levi Bean, B. F. Adams & Peter Hough. Property consisted of 2 slaves: Elizabeth, age 16, valued at $1400, and Ellen, age 24, valued at $1100.2
