While entered here as a woman, assumed to be age 30-40 (i.e. born circa 1795), it is conceivable that the name on this record refers to the Male, age 15-20 (i.e., born circa 1812). If this is a male, then perhaps his name is William or Wilie.3

Extinct Surname?* The family branch headed by Robert Culpepper is believed to have no living male descendants with the Culpepper surname. If you know otherwise, please contact Lew Griffin using the link at the bottom of this page.
Birth*say 1775 He was born say 1775.1
Research note* The ancestry of Robert Culpepper is not proven. Since Robert is near Henry E. Culpepper and Sarah (then the widow of Henry) in both the 1820 and 1830 censuses, it is possible that Robert is the son of Henry and Sarah [W. L. C].

However, he was not mentioned in Henry's will, and so was more likely the son of Henry's brother William Culpepper of Norfolk Co., VA and wife Mary. This may be the Robert Culpepper who inherited land in his the will of his grandfather Thomas Culpepper of Norfolk Co., VA. In that document, a Robert Culpepper, grandson, was mentioned as the son of Mary Culpepper, which is problematic. This writer assumes this is a reference to Mary, wife of William Culpepper, son of Thomas. In any case, Robert does seem to be a grandson of Thomas Culpepper, but his parentage has not been determined.

16 Jun 1671 -- Deed Bk E, p 97. Bartholomew Ingolbertson to Henry Culpepper, "out of love & affection I have unto my loving god son Henry Culpepper Jr. do freely give unto him my said god son a heifer of two years old which I purchased of Henry Culpepper Sr. & living now with his father & of ye same marking his cattle & of to have & to hold of said Heifer with all her female increases to ye said Henry Culpepper Jun. his heirs & assigns forever & his father to have ye male increases & to have ye keeping of the said Heifer with her increases until my said god son is of age. (This is the first reference to Henry Culpepper Jr. in Lower Norfolk County records.
Immigration*1673 He immigrated in 1673 to Anne Arundel Co., Maryland; From James White: 'In The Early Settlers of Maryland is the entry for Bartholomew Ingobritson for headrights. Record :

"Immigrated in 1673 with his wife and six children. Of Anne Arundell County."

His wife was named Ann, and his children were Ann, Bartholomew, Dorcas, Dorothy, Hance, and Sarah.

This fits in well with my theory that John White moved to Maryland. Perhaps you will find it helpful in identifying him. Hance is also spelled Hans in Maryland records which seems to indicate to me an origin other than English.'

Ingolbritson seems to have connections to both the White and Culpepper families in early Lower Norfolk.2
