Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery with Lawrence Funeral Home directing.
     She was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her husband, Robert Franklin Culpepper, Sr. of Pleasant Hill; son, Robert (Melanie) Franklin Culpepper, Jr. of Pleasant Hill; daughter, Ceceilia Culpepper (Frank) Smith of Gulf Shores; grandchildren, Steven Franklin Smith of Birmingham, Jennifer Culpepper (Robert) Robertson of Auburn, Amy Elizabeth Smith of Brentwood, Tenn., Robert Franklin (Trey) Culpepper III of Pleasant Hill; cousins who were raised as her brother and sister, Joseph T. Smitherman and Helen (Watt) Dudley, both of Selma; aunt, Ila Bell Franklin of Texas; uncle, Marvin Keener of Selma; numerous nieces and nephews.
     Active pallbearers are Theron Lang, Johnny Henry, Scotty Harris, Charlie Rives, Teddy Pouncy, John Stringer, Francis Middleton, Tommy Norris, Jack Mayo, C.G. (Busty) Rives, and Billy Hardy. Honorary pallbearers include Dr. Caldwell Debardeleben and Dr. William Hinson. Donations may be made to the American Heart Association, American Cancer Society, or flowers will be appreciated. The family will receive friends at Lawrence Funeral Home from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Jan. 2.2

It is conceivable that this was Mary Bolland, widow of Christopher Culpepper, and that the two of them are the parents of James J.
