Biography* | | Obituary: VIENNA. Funeral services for Mattie V. Culpepper, 95, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Brannen-NeSmith Funeral Home of Vienna. Interment will follow in Vienna City Cemetery. She died Monday, April 11 in a local hospital. Born in Washington County, she was the daughter of the late John Irwin Veal and Mary Pauline Holt Veal. She was a retired nurse, a member of First Baptist Church of Vienna and the widow of James Ross Culpepper. Survivors include her step-daughter, Dorothy Culpepper of Oconomowoc, WI ; a sister, Pauline Churchwell of Vienna; and step-grandchildren, Richard Miller of Brentwood, TN, Matt Miller of Jacksonville, FL and Sabrina Fagan of Phoenix, AZ. The family may be contacted at the Churchwell residence, 1810 Pleasant Valley Road in Vienna. Brannen-NeSmith Funeral Home of Vienna has charge of arrangements.1 |

High School in Clifton Park, N.Y. and from State University of New York in mechanical engineering. He was employed by Abacus Automation in Bennington, Vt. With his wife, Terry, he owned and operated Breezy Acres Greenhouse. He was an avid bee collector and Weebelos cub scout leader. He was completing construction of their new home. He is survived by his loving wife Teresa, and children, Christopher and Elizabeth. Also by his parents Edward Culpepper of Edmonds, Wash. father, and Dorothy Holladay and Robert Holladay, mother and step-father, of Aiken, and Mukilteo, Wash. His loving brothers are James Culpepper of Edmonds and Jonathan Culpepper of Rochester, N.Y. Memorial donations are suggested for the Edward Rawls Culpepper Children's Education Fund.1 |
