| Obituary* | 5 February 2016 | Elsie Mae Culpepper was taken by the Lord on Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2016. She passed away peacefully. Graveside service: 1 p.m. Friday in Moore Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Elsie was born in Whitney on Nov. 16, 1915. She was the daughter of Birl and Willie Copeland. Elsie grew up in Bosqueville with two sisters and one brother. Elsie married HB "Jiggs" Culpepper in 1940. She and Jiggs saw more of the world than they ever thought possible. Elsie and Jiggs settled in Arlington in 1954. They became active and devout members of Aldersgate Methodist Church. She remained faithful to her new church, Good Shepherd United Methodist, until the end. Elsie loved her family, her friends, her church and her home. She was alert until the end of her life. Elsie spoke with family and friends until the end. Elsie was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sisters, brother and many cherished friends. Survivors: Her daughter and son-in-law, Janice and Stephen C. Ritchie; her grandson, Stephen A. Ritchie; and great-grandson Stephen M. Ritchie. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She loved her family deeply.4 |
