Obituary*18 September 2006 Joe L. Culpepper, Sr., 63, of Beaumont, died Thursday, September 14, 2006 at Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth. A native of Laurel, Mississippi and resident of Beaumont since 1979, Joe was a retired lead instrumentation technician for General Electric in Beaumont and a United States Navy veteran. Survivors include his father, B.M. Culpepper of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; son, Joe Culpepper, Jr. of Port Arthur; daughter, Amanda Benites of San Antonio; grandchildren, Justin Guzman of Beaumont, Malloree Culpepper of Port Arthur, Anna Kristine Benites, Gabriel Joseph Benites and Johnny Joe Garcia all of San Antonio; wife, Susan Morris of Beaumont; great grandson, Bradon Anthony Guzman of Beaumont; sisters, Betty Culpepper and Shirley Bradshaw both of Nashville, Tennessee; and brother, Bill Culpepper of New York. His mother, Jewel Culpepper preceded him in death. Funeral service will be 6:45 p.m. Tuesday, September 19, 2006 at Broussard's, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A gathering of family and friends will begin at 5:45 p.m. until service time and will continue following the service until 9:00 p.m. at the Mortuary. Cremation arrangements are handled by Broussard's Crematorium.1
