Mr. Culpeper was born in Sycamore, AL and graduated from Winterboro High School. He was retired from the H. Warshow & Sons Company of Talladega and Tappahannock, Virginia after working there for more than 45 years.
He was also a decorated veteran of the Korean War (1950-51). He served as a Master Sergeant with the U.S. Army, 2nd Infantry Division, 37th Field Artillery Battalion.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Guy Culpeper and Alma Dean Folsom; brothers, William and Dan; sisters, Evelyn Quinn and Helen Perry.
He is survived by his wife of more than 49 years, Charlotte Freeman Culpeper; son, Alan Hugh Culpeper (Lynn); grandson, Justin Hugh Culpeper; granddaughter, Amber Marie Culpeper; daughters by a prior marriage, Diane Townsend and Cindy King; brothers, Reese and Ed (Lillie) Culpeper; sister Mavis Wheeler (Franklin).
Visitation will be Sunday from 12:00-2:00. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, Talladega. Usrey Brown-Service Funeral Home will direct.3 |
