Dear Linda:
I think I am finally getting somewhere, thanks to all your information on
the net, and family tree maker. My name is Debbie Honn Hunt. I live in Texas. If I've done this right I have traced my family back nine generations.
I still have a lot of holes to fill in, but it finally feels good.
I've been at this for almost a year now. My dad was Dale E. Honn, his dad Peter Paul Honn (birth cert. has Hahn) , his dad was John Daniel Honn, his Dad was Abasolom Carter Hahn, his dad was Abraham Hahn, And his dad was Joshua Hahn, and his dad was Johannes Hahn, and his dad was Johann Jacob Hahn. Anyway the reason I'm writing is to say thank you and to see if you have any more information on Peter Paul Honn. This would be my grandfather and I'm having a hard time finding information. He was born Feb 3rd 1899 and died Feb 12th1947. His parents are John Daniel Honn and Zerilda Miller Gibbs. Also JohnDaniel had a son Absalom Carter Benton Honn born June 5th, 1887. And John Daniel Honn's father was Absalom Carter Honn born 1813 or 1817 . Do you know any more about these two Absaloms. Again THANK YOU. Eager to hear from you.
Debbie

Linda S. wrote:Hi Gae,
You might be looking for the Sarah Honn who was daughter of Andrew and Sarah Hoke Honn. Check at http://www.familysearch.org. There are several Sarahs but the spellings differ. Some are Honn, Haun, Hahn and Hawn. You can choose from them to get more information.

Hi Linda,
Sarah and Henry were my 5th greatgrandparents. We have extensive
records of their descendants if you are interested. Also, thank you for
filling in the blanks from Sarah on back. I had no idea we had another
Patriot in the family.

We have a picture of Aunt Jane Hahn in OK with her daughter and grand daughter. She had a cane, recovering from a broken hip, per the grand daughter. who is Nellie Davoult Cherry, Don's mother. Jane raised Eliza Catherine and brother and we have the census with their names. Aunt Jane married William Clinton Scott. Their daughter Mattie was Nellie's mother, Don's grandmother. Dear Linda,
Just today came across your web page and have now read it "cover-to-cover". Delightful! I am decended from Johannes Schell, brother of Christian Hahn's wife, Mary Magdalene Schell.
Ken Jackson's letter mentions Professor G. W. Hahn's book "The Catawba Soldier of the Civil War". On page 326/7 of that book is a sketch and picture of W. A. Setzer. Are you related to him? My mother was a Setzer born in Colletsville (Caldwell Co.) and her grandfather William Azor Setzer (b. 1837) was in the war, but I don't have any records of his service. Do you know of any records would identify Prof. Hahn's sources?
Keep up the good work. I'd like to visit here again.
Hi to of you.
I used to study at Pace University (NY) in 1994, and was in touch with
Jennifer Setzer. Back to France(yes, I'm French...) I kept writing to her
for a while, but time and distance broke the links. Now, I tried to get news from her again, but I can't find her adress, e-mail, phone,.... No way to find her. Does one of you know Jennifer. If you do, feel free to give me any information about her or let her know that she
can write to me at : [email protected]
Thanks lot.
