Dear Linda Hawn Setzer,
We have a common interest in Robert Brackenridge and Catherine Hawn. As you already know Catherine Hahn was born at Cape Girardeau, MO and was married there to Robert Brackenridge. After their marriage they moved to Arkansas, either Greene or Jackson County where they raised a family, up until about 1850. Both of them seem to have died about that time and their children became orphans. I know the names of some of their children. Do you have information on their children? I would like to learn more about them. Hope to hear from you soon. RCB

Jacob Hahn was born in PA about 1900. He married Rachel Shoemaker. Two of their children were: George Washington Hahn, born 31 Dec 1824 in Pittsburg, Allegheny Co., PA. Married Mary Elizabeth Swigert (first) and died 9 Jan 1909 in Monroe Township, Adams County, Indiana. Jacob Hahn Jr. born about 1835 and married Barbara Swagard (Swigert?) and died in 1878. Children of both grew up in Monroe Township, Adams County, Indiana and married there. George Washington and both his wives are buried in the Smith Cemetery, 1.5 miles south of Monroe, adams County, Indiana.

Linda:- Thanks for the update. I checked your data, but did not find Jacob (b abt 1800) and Rachel Shoemaker HAHN. Are they in there somewhere??
-Reply from Linda I have several Jacobs, one b. 1802 m. Sarah or Sally Traffenstaat; one 1776 m. Mary (Polly) Lawrence; one b. 1848 with no wife listed. Can you tell me more? Who Jacob's parents were, for instance? or his siblings? Jacob and Mary Lawrence also had a son Jacob Honn Jr. who married Mary Putoff or Bottorff. Need more information, please. Linda
From Linda 2011: I still have no Jacob Hahn born in Pennsylvania in 1900 nor a Rachel Shoemaker. I would be willing to say these are members of a different branch of Hahns.Linda: I've read and re-read your Hahn lineage. Somehow I feel we can connect if we go back far enough. I'm searching George Marquis Hahn b. l8l7/l8l8 Saxony - Wed Dorothea (Reeser) of Germany in US. Died CT father of: Frederick
August (?) Hahn b. l860 CT. Wed Jennie Lyons. Died /buried Bristol CT - father of: George A. Hahn (Andrew/August?) -b. l888 CT - my grandfather. There are so many common names/places in our ancestors. If you ever make the connection - please let me know. I've written an address in GErmany - given to me by a cousin in Hamburg - it has been three months and I have not heard. But I feel the connection will be in siblings of George Marquis Hahn?

There is also, named in our family records, an Elizabeth Hahn, also
born in Germany (I feel she is of George Marquis' generation - sister?
Sister-in-law? Mother? Thanks for your consideration.

Dear Gail,
Thank you for writing but I'm afraid if we connect, it will
be very very far back. My ancestor was born in 1712 in
Freckenfeld, Germany andhis father was born in 1681. I'm sorry, but I do not
believe I can help you. My 5great grandfather (if I'm
counting right) was Frederick but he was born in
1770-something in America. There is plenty of documentation.
Good luck on your hunt.
Linda
