PERRY TOWNSHIP


JOSEPH BALLARD and Cynthia (Levally) Ballard have seven children--George W., Sallie A., Susan, Lucinda, William W., James R., and Lee Ballard. Mr. Ballard was born in Adams County, December 19, 1809. His wife, daughter of John and Elizabeth Levally, was born in Fayette County, July 25, 1816. Mr. B. is a son of Lyman and Sallie Ballard, and brother of William, Nathan, John, Elizabeth and Jackson Ballard. Mrs. B. has seven brothers and sisters--Phoebe, Jacob, William H., John J., Louis F., Louisa A. and Joseph W. Levalley.

ROSS CROSSLY was born in this state, December 23, 1818. His wife, Phoebe, was born in Clermont County, August 29, 1827. They have ten children--Lavina (wife of Robert Hill), Elizabeth Ann (wife of Joseph Tapscot), William Henry (married Rose A. Murray), Isaiah S., Cloyd J., Miner C., Viola L., Elmer E., Arminta, and Eddy E. Mr. Crossly's parents, Joseph and Mary, came to Allen County in 1837. Their children are Elizabeth, Julia A., Huldah, Reynolds, Ross and James. Mrs. Crossly is a daughter of Henry and Joan Apple, and sister of Henry.

WILLIAM G DALZELL is a son of Thomas and Eliza Dalzell, whose children are John, Elijah, Ross, William, and Martin. William was born in Columbiana County, December 18, 1831, whence, at the age of ten, he came to this county with his parents. He married Eunice McCullough, who has born in Washington County, Penn., July 20, 1833, and in 1834 was brought to this county by her parents, James and Margaret McCullough, who have five children--Matthew, Elizabeth, Samuel, J. B., and Eunice. The children of Wm. G. and Eunice Dalzell are Frank C., Emma A., and Milton S.

JAMES C HULLINGER was born in Green County, October 13, 1810, and settled in Allen County in 1836. His parents, Christopher and Mary Hullinger, came from Clarke to Allen County in 1842. Their children are Daniel, James, Jeremiah, John, Nancy, Margaret, Harriet, and Priscilla. Mr. H. married Catharine Binkley, who was born in Perry County, February 6th, 1832. Their children are, Eli, John E., Samuel, Mary, James W, Thomas H., Henry, Elijah, William R., Lemuel and Francis M. Mrs. Hullinger's parents, Emanuel and Elizabeth Binkley, came from Perry County in 1848.

REV. DANIEL LEPLEY was born in Knox County, June 13, 1830, and in 1839 came to this county, with his parents, Joseph and Nancy Lepley. His wife was born in Muskingum County, February 17, 1844. They have five children--Iven, Jerome, Branson Holmes, John Shockey, Albert Henry and George M. Mr. L. has two brothers and two sisters--Elizabeth, Abraham, Sallie and Willett. Mrs. L. is a daughter of David and Martha B. Munch, who have seven children--David, Lucy, Maria B., Nelson, Ida, Lilly and George.

THOMAS PHILLIPS, brother of John Phillips, and son of Henry and Mary, was born in Scioto County, February 27, 1802, and removed to Allen County in 1836. He married Elizabeth Davis, who was born in Warren County, May 8, 1809. Their children are, William, Henry, Joseph, Rebecca, Azuba, Jane and Elizabeth. William is married to Cynthia Goodnow, Rebecca to William McCrory, and Henry to Miss Miller. Mrs. Phillips is a daughter of Daniel and Azuba Davis, and sister of Jacob, Hannah and Mary Davis.
