	I assume that William Harkness was born in Co Tyrone. When he arrived in America, he settled in Magnolia (on the county border between Start and Carroll), where he was an early pioneer. He ran a dry goods buisness, which he passed onto his nephew William Harkness Greer (his sisters son who had emigrated from Co Tyrone in 1837), when he died.
Headstone reads: William Harkness DIED Feb 14 1852 Aged 57 Yrs ??? (Very difficult to read last line)	Click for larger image
