Granny Lennox worked in the in the post-office operating the local exchange. Mum says there would of only been a few phone numbers, for example Knears were 3, McMillans shop, the Castle, Post Office, Gavins and the Doctors. She issued the first wireless licence in Castledawson ... to her Self... and regretted it every year after (most people didn't bother with a licence). (It might of been 10 sch = 50p). She never owned a phone and in later life just arranged to be in a certain place to recieve Mum's call. [Source: Mum 2nd Jan 1999]

Notes for ANDREW HENRY LENNOX:

My main memory of him is two things:

He used to tell me off when I left the best bits of food till last, you know icing on the cake

and

He had a tin box in which he kept those sugar coated licorice sweets

He was reared with his cousin Ada.

Apparently some aunts over in Ballymena wanted to adopt him, he said no, otherwise he would of inherited their land as they had no descendants...? (Aunt Hilary) These 4 sisters perhaps McCains or else Cameron's. He went to stay once and the butler told him to dress for diner and yet he had no clothes other than those he was standing in.

He lost a leg in a tractor accident in 1956.

He was making a cart for Norwell when he had his accident.
