Married at age 19. Mom (Sophie) didn't let her go out much. Was very strict.
Didn't know Ralph very long, not did they date very long (2 month). Didn't know
him very well either. Met through Ralph's brother's wife and Katie's cousin.
Sophie didn't seem to mind the marriage but said to make sure it was right. The
had a small wedding, fiddler played. First house was built by uncle. Was three
buildings in a row made with rock and mud, wood ceilings. Made one of the
buildings into a mainhouse with one buildiong into two bedrooms. They made the
inside livable with running water and indoor toilets. Second house by Lemmon on
farm. Third house in Sturgis.

Was very sick on the boat over from Germany to American and ended up in the hospital. Frances had to stay in New York while everyone else went on to N. Dakota. She left New York for N. Dakota after Perpetua died.
