Together Again!

David Richmond Gage - nicknamed 'Pony' represented New Zealand in first class Rugby Union 8 times. He was also selected for the Native Team's tour 1888-89 where he played a remarkable 68 of the side's 74 matches in Britain. During his rugby career he played a total of 131 first class matches. 

David attended St Joseph's college Auckland before graduating from Te Aute College. He worked as a native interpreter and for the Wellington City Council, and in 1900 he married Amiria Hakaria. He died in 1916 at the young age of 38. Amiria Gage survived David by nearly 30 years, dying at 60 yrs old.
