This page contains census information and birth, marriage and death record information pertaining to my German family lines. As with most genealogy, it is a work in progress. The census information is from Des Moines County, Iowa. I only list township in the table. I have included dwelling and family numbers because I have found them to be the easiest way to locate a family. - Joan Bachenberg Shurtliff

At exactly four o'clock Miss Mary Brown, niece of the bride, stepped to the piano and rendered "Blesst be the Tie," with variations in a very sweet and impressive manner. At the close of the prelude the young couple entered unaccompanied, and took their places at the altar. The altar, the arch above it and the walls around were profusely and tastily decorated with sprays, sumach leaves and golden rod. The sacred words which made them man and wife were spoken by Rev. Harry F. Huntington in the presence of sixty of the relatives and most intimate friends of the two families. The out-of-town guests were Mrs. A.E. Bachenberg, Omer Bachenberg, Emma Bachenberg, Charlie Bachenberg, Mr. and Mrs. W.M. Jose, all coming from Lewiston; Mr. and Mrs. George Bachenberg of Armour, Mr. and Mrs. Wm.
