Know all men by these presents that Christian Lantz and Mary his wife of the County of Wayne and State of Ohio for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred and twenty dollars lawful money of the United States to them in hand payed by Peter Wise of the County and State aforesaid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have granted bargained sold and made over and by these presents do grant bargain sell and make over unto the said Peter Wise his heirs or assigns all the following described lot or parcel of land (viz:) beginning at the South West corner of the South East quarter of section twenty one in Township seventeen of Range Twelve thence East twenty six chains and twenty five links hence north forty degrees west five chains and fifty links thence north twenty four and a forth degrees East two chains and fifty links to a post where are a swamp sank twenty four inches in diameter bears south twenty four and a fourth degrees west two links thence North thirty five and a fourth degrees west three chains and eighty seven links to an elm twenty four inches in diameter thence North two chains to a post where are an elm six inches in diameter bears south twenty six degrees west eight links thence north forty three degrees west two chians and seventy five links to a post where are a lyme six inches in diameter beears north sixty degrees West eighteen links thence north eighty eight degrees west three chains to a post where are a maple sixteen inches in diameter bears south thirty seven degrees East thirteen links thence north six degrees East two chains to a post where are a jack oak four inches in diameter bears south eighty six and a half degrees East eleven links thence North fifty two and a fourth degrees East three chains to an elm eleven inches in diameter thence north eight degrees thence chains and thirty five links to an elm fifteen inches in diameter thence North fifteen degrees West two chains and eighty four links to a post where are an elm twelve inches in diameter bears south six and a half degrees West eleven links thence north eleven and three forth degrees East eleven chains and fifty links thence north forty three degrees West thirteen chains and fifty six links to a post where are an elm eleven inches in diameter bares south seventy one degrees West twenty five links thence West eight chains and thirty eight links to the North West corner of said quarter thence south forty chains and fifty links to the place of the beginning containing seventy six acres with the exception of ground for a mill dam to be raised as high as the banks of the creek will allow where the said dam now stands also ground for a mill race one rodd wide the whole length of said race on the super side of said race of the lands directed to be sold at Wooster by the act of Congress entitled an act providing for the sale of the lands of the United States in the territory North West of the Ohio and above the mouth Kentucky river and of the acts amednatory of the same and is a part of the same quarter that was conveyed by patent from the United States unto Jacob Kiefer on the twentieth day of December 1816 and said Jacob Keifer conveyed the same by deed duly exectued unto Christian Lantz the present grantor on the tenth day of March 1827 to have and to hold the within described lot or parcel of land with the acceptions aforesaid unto the said Peter Wise and his heirs forever and the Said Christian Lantz and Mary his wife by these presents do covenant and agree for themselves and their heirs with the said Peter Wise and his heirs and assigns to warrant and forever defend the title to the within described lot or parcel of land against every legal claim tha tmay be made upon the same. In Testimony whereof we have here unto set our hands and seals this twenty second day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand and eight hundred and twenty nine.
