L. I. LUNSFORD QUALIFIED AS CONSTABLE

Term 1870
It
appearing to the Court from the certificate of M. L. Davenport Commissioner of
Registration for Lauderdale County that L. I. Lunsford
was duly and legally elected as Constable for the County 10th Civil
District at the election held on the 4th Saturday in March 1870 it
being the 26th day of said month is therefore ordered to be
permitted to qualify as such when the said L. I. Lunsford
with John A. Glimp, A. E. Lunsford,
Thos E. Allston, E. S. Wakefield and S. A. Thompson for the securities, came
into court and entered into the following bond:

We,
L. I. Lunsford, John A. Glimp, A. E. Lunsford, T. E. Allston, E. S. Wakefield, S. A.
Thompson bound ourselves in the penal sum [of] Four Thousand dollars payable to
the State of Tennessee. To be void on
condition that the said L. I. Lunsford
this day inducted in to the Constables office for Lauderdale County shall
faithfully discharge the duties of his office and make prompt payment to the
proper persons of all monies collected or received by him by virtue of his
office.

and S. A. Thompson, bind ourselves in the penal sum of Five hundred [thousand]
dollars payable to the State of Tennessee.
To be void on condition the said L. I. Lunsford
this day inducted into the office of Constable for Lauderdale County ……….of the
law in Chapter 3 Page 892 of the Code or other laws relating to the payment of
fines and costs in such cause.

bond was acknowledged by all the parties to the same and by the court approved
