STATE SCHOOL YOUTH DIES IN PASTURE

---

Funeral plans are pending for Jimmy Lunsford, 15,

who was found dead Monday afternoon  in a pasture on the

Abilene State School property where he was a student.

Kiker-Warren Funeral Home will announce funeral plans.

The youth, whose parents live in Arkansas, had been missing since Friday.  It was reported that he had a congenital heart defect.

Justice of the Peace Roy Buchanan of Merkel, called into the case when it was discovered that no local peace justices were available, has ordered an autopsy.

Buchanan said the boy probably died "not long" after he was reported missing about 8 p.m. Friday.

He said there were no evident signs of foul play.

Supt. L. W. Cain at the school

said attendants preparing children for bed Friday

night after a play period noted he was missing.

When a search of the area failed to locate him, the Abilene Police Department, the Taylor County Sheriff's Office and the Department of Public Safety were notified, Cain said.

The body was discovered in a brushy pasture a short distance from the school complex.
