The Lauderdale Enterprise The death of Mr.
Press Lunsford at his home in Ripley at an early hour Wednesday morning,
though not unexpected, occasioned much sadness to those who knew and love(d) him best.... Some four year(s) ago
his health began to fail. At that time he was residing in Harrisburg,
Ark., where he was engaged in the drug business and enjoyed a very large
patronage, his store being considered the leading one (of) the kind in that
city. Realizing that a
change of climate was essential toward regaining his health, he disposed of
his business and went West for a brief period. Until about a year ago
he alternated his time between that far Western country and Ripley --- making
three trips --- when he finally decided to spend his remaining days, even
though for a season, with loved ones and friends here rather than dwell among
unknown faces and unresponsive hearts. Mr. Lunsford was a
member of the Methodist church and always honored God...the days of his
earthly pilgrimage were limited to 26 years. Rev. J. W. Waters
conducted the funeral services Thursday morning at the family residence after
which the remains were carried to and laid to rest. The Lauderdale
