There is an obit of him in both the Coshocton Age of 2-14-1896 and the Democrat Standard of 2-14-1896. He was a resident of Helmick. This says he is age 69 -- this would have him born in 1827.

In the 1850 census of Mechanic Township, Holmes County, Ohio (page 164; Dwelling # 1116; Family #1137) there is George Elliott 56; and Prudence 58 both born in Ireland. The real estate is valued at $2,300 and George calls himself a falrmer. The children living at home are Jane 22; Robert 21; Ellenor 19; Samuel 16.
Apr. 3, 1863 she and her husband sell Buchanan County, Iowa property to Jacob Hont. At this time they are listed as being from Clay County, Indiana. They seemed to be connected to Terra Haute, Indiana. In 1969 Albert Wade Elliott wrote me and said that his mother used to refer to "Aunt Ellen"meaning Eleanor Elliott Jett.
There is a note in the Hugh Elliott estate from Elennor Jett dated August 2, 1863 stating that she received from Joel Glover $200.00 from the estate. She signs from Martz, Indiana
