Ralph de Greystoke, 5th Baron, summoned to Parliament from 28 Nov., 1375, to 5 Oct., 1417, as Radulfo, Baron de Greystoke. This nobleman was constituted in 1 376 governor of Loughmaban Castle, in Scotla nd, and one of the commissioners f or guarding the West Marches. Moreover, in 1s t of Richard II, 1377/8, he was j oined with other barons for guarding both East and West Marches. The next year he assisted the Earl in taking the castle of W arwick, of which the Scots had p ossessed themselves by surprise. In 4th of Rich ard II his lordship had the dir ection of the military expedition against the Sc ots, but was made prisoner by George, Earl of Dunbar. His ransom cost 3000 mark s. He married Katherine, daug hter of Roger, Lord Clifford, by Maud, daughter of Thomas de Beauchamp, Earl of Warwick. She died 6 April, 1418, aged 64. They ha d a daughter Maud, who marri ed Eudo, son of John, 4th Lord Welles, and a son, S ir John de Greystoke, 6th B aron.
