The Wayne County, Ohio tax list for 1814 lists David Hall as having the S W quarter of Section 27; Twp 15; Range 13--145 acres. In this same year he is appointed administrator to estate
At the Wooster, Ohio library the book, " Early Land Records of Wayne County, Ohio", has David Hall purchasing land May 13, 1820 in Franklin Township N.W. 25 15-13-93. This purchase was from William Thomas There is another report of a purchase in S.W. 27.
Wooster library says page 55 of Probate book #2 has David Hall will probated.
At Western Reserve Historical Society the book, "The 1812 Census of Ohio" by T.L.C. Genealogy lists taxpayers. They note that Wayne County names did not become available until 1814. It lists David Hall.
In the WRHS "Index to 1810 Census of Pennsylvania" by the Ohio Family History there are two David Hall's listed. The first is in Armstrong County, Buffalo Township pg 386 and the second in in Kittaning Township Page 376.

The Family Record of William Dixon Hall" at the National Genealogical Society in Washington, DC (1994) starts with a John Hall married to Elizabeth Stevens in 1796. They came from Maryland to Smithfield, Jefferson county, Ohio. None of the children of this family seem to relate.

Death of David Hall
This well known and respected pioneer citizen departed this life Monday night, Dec. 31st. at his home in Franklin Township, three miles south of Wooster. His age was 78 years. Death was caused by kidney disease.
He was born in Wooster in a house on the corner now occupied by Craighead & Co.'s grocery store. When eight years old he went to Franklin township, and there resided on the same farm during the remaining seventy years of his life. During the earlier period he toiled and struggled through the work of a pioneer, and as a reward was in later years enabled to enjoy the ease and comforts of life. He was man of upright character, a practical one of good judgement and enlarged information, of kind social disposition, and esteemed by all.
His wife died in 1880. His surviving sons and daughters are: Mrs Micheal Franks, of Franklin township; Mrs. S.E. Lawrence and John C. Hall of Wooster township; Robert Hall of Americus, Kansas; Joseph Hall of Moreland, and William Hall, of Franklin township.
The funeral took place last Thursday forenoon, January 3d, at his late residence. It was largely attended by neighbors and friends. The services were conducted by Rev. Miller, of the English Lutheran church. The remains were consigned to the grave at Wooster Oak Grove Cemetery.

In the 1850 Census of Franklin Township, Wayne County both David and Martha list their birth place as Pennsylvania, all of their children are listed as Ohio born. In the 1870 census the children, Robert, Joseph, Thomas, William and Edward are still listed as living with their parents.
