In Joshua's military records, in a widows claim by Lou Gennie, an affidavit
sworn to by Gennie's sister, Margaret and her husband Alonzo Williamson: Claimant is the sister of the affiant Margaret Williamson}{ claiment and Jake Cooper were married at Van Buren, AR about twenty two years ago and lived together from Thursday night until Sunday morning following. This marriage was in January or February 1871, Affiant Margaret Williamson was present at the marriage, it became known in a few days after claimants former husband left her that he, Jake Cooper, had a wife then living. Claimant at the end of the first year of her abandonment, brought suit in the Crawford Circuit Court for divorce, Granville Wilcox, now dead, was her attorney. We went to the court house with claimant and testified for her in her divorce case, which divorce was granted by the Crawford Circuit Court. Claiment had been engaged to marry soldier, Joshua K. Carr, for about one year before they did marry. Their marriage was delayed by her divorce, on the day the divorce was granted soldier and claimant were married at Van Buren, AR. This marriage was on about November 15, 1872-were each present and eye witnesses to the marriage of soldier and claimant as above stated, they were married by one Northcutt a minister of the gospel. The Court House at Van Buren AR containing these records of marriages as testified to by us also the records of the divorce were destroyed by fire. Parents: Jesse HENSON and ELEANOR. When the register of intruders was taken in Sequoyah District of Indian Territory
(Intruders film Schedule 5, 1880 for Cherokee Nation) Margaret Henson, sister to Samuel, Lou Gennie and Alfred, was living with her mother-in-law, Martha Williamson. They are listed, as living in their own place, there are nine people living in the home. Margaret has a nine year old Eliza Williamson, who is Martha's granddaughter, In 1900 Alonzo 2 stepdaughters living with them. from various indications in Henson records it is asumed that Margaret was married to an older brother of Alonzo and was widowed. Margaret and Alonzo did not marry until Feb 27,l886.
The 1880 census shows Margaret to be 48 and Alonzo as 24. In 1910 Margaret is living with daughter, Susie and B. Stancil age 62 listed as a servant and has had 4 children with 3 living.
