THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION WAS GATHERED FROM THE ADJUDANT GENERAL'S REPORT OF THE STATE OF KENTUCKY:
Fleming served in the Civil War with the Confederate Army, Company D, 5th Regiment, Infantry. He enlisted in Breathitt County, Kentucky on August 25, 1862 with his brother Hiram. Both Fleming and Hiram were transferred from Williams' Co. Calvary; retransferred August 10, 1862. (Volume I, page 230-231). They transferred from the Roll of Company A, 2nd Battalion Mounted Rifles. On September 15, they were joined by two other brothers, Lewis and Jerry, who enlisted at Wolfe County, KY on September 15, 1862. Unfortunately, Lewis and Jerry were captured on October 20, 1862. (Volume 2, p. 366-367).
OTHER NOTES FROM THE ADJUDANT GENERAL'S REPORT: (bottom of page 367):
"Roll date Feb. 28, 1863. Camp Bynum, E. Tenn.: This Company has been engaged in fighting the "Home Guards of Kentucky" ever since its organization, during the time killing thirty and taking forty prisoners. One member of this Company was shot in retailiation for the death of a notorius leader of the "Home Guards."
"This Company was also on detached service with Gen. John H. Morgan during his passage from Cumberland Gap through Kentucky, loosing four men by caputre; eighty-four horses shot. The scouting for General Morgan was done exclusively by the Company. -- John T. Williams, Capt."

At the Spencer-King Cemetery near Quillen's Chapel, Wolfe County, Kentucky, there are headstones for Shrilda Trent King, b. Apr. 26, 1876, d. Aug. 6, 1912 and Alley King, b. May 1, 1870, d. March 17, 1965. There are several other King headstones nearby, but none for a Fleming King. There are also several unmarked graves in the immediate vicinity.

One researcher - [email protected] - has said that it is believed Fleming King and Elizabeth Watkins King are buried on Bloody Creek in Wolfe County.
Another story says Fleming King is buried at the head of Indian Creek.
Supposedly 2 or 3 graves besides his. I don't know if they are marked. Parents: Moses KING and Mary Alice PUGH.
