Phyllis L. Carr, 66, of Rockford, died Monday, March 9, 1987, in Paradise Oaks,Cloverdale, after an extended illness. She was born June 20, 1920 in Mercer County, a daughter of Cornell and Opal (Barnett) Shindeldecker. She was married to Chester carr, who died May 7, 1981. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Peggy) Birdsong, of Atlanta, Ga., and Mrs. Nancy Temple of Van wert; a sister, Mrs. Robert (Betty Ruth) Lloyd of Rockford and two grandchildren. A brother, Harold is deceased. She was a member of the First United Methodist church in Rockford. Funeral services were held Wednesday (today) in the Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home, with the Rev. Larry G. Smiley officiating. Burial was in the Riverside Cemetery Rockford, Ohio.

Hi,
Adam Shipley arrived in Maryland in 1668. His dad was Hugh Shipley wh o is mentioned as a gentlemen in the second virginia charter. This charter date s back to May 23, 1609 and was written up by King James. It isn't too hard to f ind a copy of it on-line. If anyone know anything prior to Hugh, please let me know!
