PETER SHIPLEY, the forth child of Adam_1 and Lois Shipley, is one of whom l ittle is known and existing documents present difficulty in interpreting facts that are verifiable. He received from his brother Richard_2 when his father's ( Adam_1) estate was divided, 100 acres on Elk Ridge, a part of ADAM THE FIRST, a djoining the land of his brother Robert_2. There is another deed to PETER SHIPL EY from RICHARD_2 and SUSANNAH SHIPLEY of Baltimore County for a tract of land called BATCHLERS VINEYARD being part of ADAM THE FIRST containing 90 acres. The consideration was 4, 000 pounds of tobacco, dated September 29, 1712. (T.R.NO. A.F.213) There is an interesting desosition in the Chancery Court at Annapolis (LIBER 18, Folio 35) where PETER SHIPLEY_2, identified as the son of Adam_1 and Lois Shipley, swears that he was at a certain spot with the surveyor, Peter Pi nkstone, "about 20 or 30 years ago" and knows some boundary trees in the land s urveyed from Adam_1. The date of this desposition is February 2, 1747, and the deponent declares himself to be "Peter Shipley, Sr. 60 years old." This would p lace his birth in 1687. No further records of PETER_2 are available.

In addition to Charles and Elizabeths children t here was also Susannah Stevens, sister to Elizabeth who married Robert Shipley. ..Susannah married Roberts brother Richard Shipley.
