OBITUARY:
Louis Speiser, 76, a lifetime resident of Defiance County and a farmer in Tiffin Township for many years, died at 1:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 5, 1965, in Defiance City Hospital to which he was admitted on November 30, 1964, as a medical patient. Mr. Speiser, whose address wasRte. 1, defiance, had been a semi-invalid since he had a stroke on August 8, 1961. He was born in Noble township on May 22, 1888, a son of Godfrey and Dora (Schultz) Speiser and on September 23, 1900 was married to Leafy A. Shock who survives. Also surviving are three sisters and four brothers; Mrs. Sarah Brenner and Mrs. Welcome (Christinan) Crites, both of Bryan; Mrs. Carrie Motter, Stryker; Henry Speiser, Rte. 1 Defiance; Joseph Speiser, Sherwood; Ernest Speiser, Jewell and O. A. Speiser, Rte. 2 Defiance. He was preceded in death by three sisters; Mrs. Louisa Warner, Mrs. Nora Arena and Mrs. Anna Charles; three brothers; John, Ed and Will and two half brothers, Fred and Charles Speiser. Friends will be received after 2:00 p.m. Wednesday in the Mansfield, Mast and Mock Funeral Home where srvices will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Friday. The burial will be in the Evansport cemetery, Ohio, with the Rev. Wyatt Weeks officiating of the Church of God. Mrs. Marjorie Sisco was organist. The pallbearers were Thomas Love, Edward Hulsted, Glen Hardy, Richard Singer, Albert Hiler and Ed Skinner. Friday January 8, 1965.
