You show that Wesley Rose Weyant was born 23 Aug 1837 in Tompkins Clove,Rockland Co, NY. Another researcher Kelly J. Galeas has a posting thatshows he was born in Aug 1839 in Haverstraw, Rockland Co, NY. The 1850census shows him to be 11 year s of age at that time.
The reason I am writing this e-mail is that I have an ancestor that Ibelieve to be the son of George and Mary Weyant. His name is Samuel RoseWiant. He was born 16 Jul 1829 and died at the home of my grandfather19 Jun 1911 in Mayfield, Beckha m Co, OK. Census information shows he wasborn in NY and married in 1851 Mary Leora Hull. Samuel left home at theage of 16 and went to Wisconsin. This would account for him not beinglisted on the 1850 census with the parents I believe are his . SinceGeorge and Mary married in 1825, There could be other children who lefthome before 1850. The first child you show listed was Alpheus born in1835.
Do you know of anyone who has a picture of any sons of George and Mary?I have 2 pictures of Samuel Rose Wiant, one taken about when he was 40years of age and the other taken when he was elderly. I would like tocompare his picture with those wh o are possibly his brothers.

If my assumptions are correct, his name Samuel would have come from hisgrandfather Samuel Weyant who married Elizabeth Sheldon. His middle nameRose would have come from his mother as this was her surname. George andMary gave another son the mid dle name of Rose which was Wesley RoseWeyant.
I have some deed information which I found of interest. George Weiantsold 8 acres of land in 1848 to George H Rose. He also sold 15 acres ofland to Martin Rose in 1844. I am not sure if either of these two Roseindividuals was the father of Mary . Another deed shows that GeorgeWeiant sold land to Jackson Rose in 1851. Jackson was born in 1829 so hecould not have been the father of Mary Rose. I do not have ages ofGeorge H or Martin. If you have any information concerning possibleparent s of Mary Rose, I would appreciate receiving it.
