Boyd's Station, in the north part of the precinct, is situated on the Kentucky Central Railroad, midway between Cincinnati and Lexington, and is the central water station and coal supply of the railroad. It was named for Andrew Boyd, Sr., who was one of the early settler sin the vicinity. He operated a distillery where the village now stands a early as 1843. Like Berry's Station, the place sprang into existence upon the building of the railroad. It is a small place, with about one hundred inhabitants, and boasts of three stores, a post office, tobacco warehouse, mill, etc. The post office is kept by James Woodbury; the tobacco warehouse does quite a large business, and the mill is in good condition. It has a capacity of 200 bushels of grain per day, and is operated by J.P. Blair. This mill was originally built by Whitehead Coleman about the year 1810, and is the oldest mill in this section of the county. It was formerly known as the "Broad Ford Mill," in consequence of the great width of the river at this point.

Questions about Andrew:
1. Birthplace?
2. Wife Mary's family name? Birthplace? Parents names? Siblings?
3. Marriage date and place?
4. Andrew's parents' names?
5. Brothers or sisters? names?
6. Children other than son Andrew?
7. Why not listed with property in Tithe Applotment Book 1823-1838.
Was he in the military service sometime in 1820s? Did he serve with the East India Company?
8. In 1825 there are four Boyds listed in Tithe Applotment Book in Keady area.
They were John (Clay, 1405 acres), William (Clay, 1405 acres), Robert (Crossnehagh, 338 acres), and Thomas (Brackley, 286 acres).
Could any or all of these Boyds be related to Andrew?
John and William are listed in same place with same acreage. Could they be father and son?
John does not appear in the Griffith Land Valuation (1848-1864). Was he the elder and died?
William does appear in Brackly. Thomas also appears in Kilcam. Robert does not appear.
9. New Boyds appearing in the area: James (Tullynamal-loge), James B. (Tassagh), Judith (Kilcam), Nataniel (Dunlarg), Patrick, and Samuel (Clay - Son of William?). Also Andrew, see next.
10. An Andrew does appear in the Griffith Valuation Book (1848-1864). Is this the Andrew in this family history? Has he turned up
after military service? Note: son Andrew (1838-1925) would not be born or too young to be this entry in the Valuation.
11. The leading question is: Could Andrew be the brother or cousin of our James Boyd (1799) who emigrated to Ontario in 1816-1820?
