information about the family on 2/24/94 I visited the WRHS and examined the book, 'Index to 1810 Census of Pennsylvania' by Ohio Family Historians. The book includes 7 Caskey's and there are 2 John's. One is living in Abington Township, Montgomery County (page 1053) and the other is in Fawn Township York County, PA.
Feb. 1994 John Roland Showalter wrote to me re: this family. He claims that John & Anna had 9 children.
In Wayne County, Ohio a John Caskey married Young Dec. 4,. 1844.

There are two reports on her birth place, one says Westmoreland County, PA and the other is Wayne County, Ohio.
In the 1850 Census of Franklin Township, Wayne County both David and Martha list their birth place as Pennsylvania, all of their children are listed as Ohio born. In the 1870 census the children, Robert, Joseph, Thomas, William and Edward are still listed as living with their parents.
The Wooster Cemetery Burial Permits list her as Book #1- Record #412. Gives birth as March 1812-Westmoreland County, Penna and death Feb. 25th 1880-Franklin Township, Wayne County. Her parents are Sam & Martha
Caskey. Martha is buried inSection 4; Lot 967 S1/2 and the undertaker was Wm Spear & Sons. $4.00

In the 1873 Caldwell Atlas of Wayne Count, Ohio there are some Caskey families reported. In Wayne Township there is property of Alexander; George; and William Caskey. Wiliam is also showning owning property in the S.E. corner of Canaan Township. There is mention of a J.S. Caskey in Wooster ward #3 at Horth & Grant Streets.

To get more information about the family on 2/24/94 I visited the WRHS and examined the book, 'Index to 1810 Census of Pennsylvania' by Ohio Family Historians. The book includes 7 Caskey's. There is a Samuel listed in Westmoreland County, Derry Township -pg. 779.
A check of the book "The Horn Papers" Vol. III does not include any Caskeys in the Pennsylvania counties of Fayette, Greene & Washington.
At the Wooster, Ohio library the book, " Early Land Records of Wayne County, Ohio", has John Caskey purchasing land December 14, 1812 in Wayne Township, Wayne County, Ohio -160 acres in N.W. 9. I also found information about a John Caskey of Brooke County, VA buying land in Harrision County, Ohio in 1811.
In Madisonburg there is a cemetery with a Julia Caskey d. Aug. 8, 1859 ae 30 years. On page 637 of "Wayne County Ohio Burial Records" printed in 1975 they mention a Caskey cemetery about 1 mile north of Madisonburg on Route 3. The cemetery has opnly 3 stones and none of them seemed to have any connection.
