     Alan Gabriel Jones M.B.E. was born on 15 October 1919 at Springvale Botanical Cemetery, Springvale, Lancashire, England; and his birth was recorded at Toxteth Park Registration district in the December quarter 1919.^1,2,3 He was the son of Ernest Gabriel Jones M.Sc., F.I.C. and Dora Murray Park.¹ Alan Gabriel Jones M.B.E. was awarded on 24 July 1939 an Aviator's Certificate of the Great Britain Royal Aero Club for the test taken on a 'Tiger Moth, Gipsy Maj' at Liverpool & District Aero Club whilst an Undergraduate, when he gave his address as 16 Sefton Drive, Liverpool, Lancashire, England.^2,4

He married Nancy Evelyn Clowes in 1942 at Lancashire, England; and their marriage was recorded at Liverpool North Registration district in the March quarter 1942.⁵ Alan Gabriel Jones M.B.E. and Nancy Evelyn Clowes were recorded as sailing from London, England, to Melbourne, Australia; when they were both recorded as being born in 1920 in 1947.⁶ Alan Gabriel Jones M.B.E. and Nancy Evelyn Clowes were recorded on the 1949 and 1954 Australian Electoral Roll at the corner of Bayne and Bannister Streets, Sandhurst East, Bendigo, Victoria, Australia; he was an Engineer and she was involved with Home Duties.⁷

The Institution of Engineering and Technology list Alan Gabriel Jones, as an Honorary Fellow of the Institution from 1979.⁸ The London Gazette Issue 48213 published 13 June 1980 contained the following notice in the Queen's Birthday Honours List: M.B.E. To be Ordinary Members of the Civil Division of the said Most Excellent Order: ...Alan Gabriel Jones, of Hampton, Victoria [Australia]. For public service and service to engineering.⁹'

He appeared on the census of 5 April 1891 at 15 Chaloner Street, Liverpool, Lancashire, England, as Head, married, age 44, birthplace Liverpool, Lancashire, and he was a Retired Engineer and Millwright.⁵ He appeared on the census of 31 March 1901 at Liverpool, Lancashire, England, as Head, married, age 54, birthplace Liverpool, Lancashire, and he was Retired (occupation illegible).¹ He appeared on the census of 2 April 1911 at 59 Hope Street, Liverpool, Lancashire, England, as Head, age 64, birthplace Liverpool and he was living on Private means. His wife, daughter and a general servant completed the household.⁶ He died in 1928 at Lancashire, England; and his death was recorded at Liverpool Registration district in the June quarter 1928.⁷

      Her married name was Stagg.¹ Emily Violet Randell was born on 14 August 1890; and her birth was recorded at West Ham registration office in the June quarter 1888. She married David Henry Theodore Stagg, son of Henry Theodore Stagg and Charlotte Caroline Brown, in 1913; and their marriage was recorded at Lambeth record office in the March quarter 1913.¹ Emily Violet Randell died in 1958 at Surrey, England; and her death was recorded at Surrey North Eastern registration office in the June quarter 1958.²
