     Charles Morris Simons was born on 1 July 1864 at Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Scotland.3,4,5 He was the Son of Benjamin Simons and Hanna Crawcour.5 He appeared on the census of 5 April 1891 at 80 Gower Street, London, England, as Boarder, single, age 26, birthplace Scotland; he was an employer and an Auctioneer and Fruit Broker.6

He married Minnie Dora Phillips, daughter of John Phillips J.P. and Leah Mosely, after 5 April 1891 at Warwickshire, England; and their marriage was recorded in the June quarter 1891 at Birmingham Registration district.7,2 Charles Morris Simons was listed in the Post Office London Directory, 1899. [Part 5: Law, Court & Parliamentary Directories] as: 'Simons Charles Morris, 44 Canfield gardens, Hampstead, NW.8'

He appeared on the census of 31 March 1901 at Hampstead, London, England, as Head, married, age 36, born Scotland, and he was a Fruit Merchant.4 He appeared on the census of 2 April 1911 at 22 Canfield Gardens, Hampstead, London, England, as Head, age 46, married 1891, birthplace Glasgow, and he was an employer and a Fruit Broker. The household also contained his Wife, Son Kenneth John Simons and two Domestic Servants: Cook and Housemaid.9

He was recorded arriving at Ellis Island, New York, United States of America, on the Lapland sailing from Liverpool, England, age 55, last residence London, England, and he was English Scotch on 11 August 1919.10 He lived on 28 May 1920 at 30-31 Long Acre, London, England; and was recorded by his Son Kenneth John Simons when he sailed on the SS Tunisian to Quebec, Canada, his passage paid for by his father.11

He was executor to his wife and the 1933 National Probate Calendar records: 'Simons Minnie Dora of 42 Cleveland-square Hyde Park Middlesex (wife of Charles Morris Simons) died 28 July 1933 Probate London 6 September to the said Charles Morris Simons gentleman and John Harold Senior accountant'.12

He lived on 29 September 1939 at 85 Princess Court, Paddington, London, England; where he was on the 1939 Register, when he was recorded as widowed, occupation Retired Fruit Broker, with a note: 'A.R.P. Ambulance'. A Housekeeper complted the household.13 He died on 15 April 1948 at Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Scotland, at age 83.12 His estate was probated; and The 1948 National Probate Calendar reads: 'Simons Charles Morris of 25 Kingsborough-gardens Glasgow W.2 died 15 April 1948 Confirmation of John Harold Senior chartered accountant and Harold Levander Jones. Sealed London 30 August.14'

      Kathleen Emma Searston was also known as Emma Searston.4 Her married name was Mosely.1 She was born in 1869 at Hollers End, Yorkshire, England; and her birth was recorded and indexed as Emma Searston at Sheffield Registration district in the March quarter 1869.1,5 She married Edward Lewin Mosely LDS, son of Benjamin Lewin Mosely and Florence Cohen, in 1901 at London, England; and their marriage was recorded in the June quarter 1901 at Marylebone Registration district.1,2 Kathleen Emma Searston appeared on the census of 31 March 1901 at West Ham, Essex, England, as Wife, age 30, born Hollers End, Yorkshire.1

She was recorded on an Incoming UK Passenger List from Port Said arriving at Tilbury on 26 March 1937 on the SS Oxfordshire, as a 60 year old lady, proposing to stay at the Cumberland Hotel, London, last resident in South Africa, travelling with her husband and daughter.6 She died on 24 May 1945 at South Africa.7,8 Her estate was probated; and the following newspaper notice was published: 'Under the Colonial Probates Act 1892 Rules. In the High Court of Justice Probate Divorce and Admiralty Division Probate Kathleen Emma Mosely deceased.
