     Richard Hoare was born circa 1779.1 He married Phoebe Wheatley on 19 February 1803 at Windlesham, Surrey, England.1 Richard Hoare left a will on 18 July 1815; Richard Hoare (X) of Windlesham, publican 18 Jul 1815
to my wife Sarah all beer, ale, porter and spirits, use of plate, linen and household goods for life and to George Burchett of Bagshot, Windlesham, bricklayer and James Vardell of same place, cooper execs in trust and rest to them to sell same and intreset to wife for life to bring up children and after her death all to children except eldest daughter Harriet Hoare by former wife Phoebe equally.

Proved 7 September 1821.2 He died before 14 December 1820.1 He was buried on 14 December 1820 at Windlesham, Surrey, England.1

There is a disabled parking space marked on the road immediately in front of the Dunkirk Memorial, and a slope has been built to allow wheelchair access from the pavement to the memorial and thus Plots IV and V from the First World War and Plots I and II from the Second World War in the cemetery. Plots I, II and III from the First World War, in the main part of the cemetery, are accessible via the Civil Cemetery entrance. Location Information: The Dunkirk Memorial stands at the entrance to the British War Graves Section of Dunkirk Town Cemetery, which lies at the south-eastern corner of the town of Dunkirk, immediately south of the canal and on the road to Veurne (Furnes) in Belgium. On entering the cemetery through the columns of the Dunkirk Memorial, two Commonwealth war graves sections will be seen: Plots IV and V from the First World War and Plots I and II from the Second World War. There is also a further First World War section (Plots I, II and III) in the main part of the cemetery to the right of the main entrance. Historical Information: During the Second World War, Dunkirk was the scene of the historic evacuation of the British Expeditionary Force from France in May 1940. The DUNKIRK MEMORIAL stands a the entrance to the Commonwealth War Graves section of Dunkirk Town Cemetery. It commemorates more than 4,500 casualties of the British Expeditionary Force who died in the campaign of 1939-40 or who died in captivity who were captured during this campaign and who have no known grave.
