     John Alfred Morley was born on 30 September 1884 at Paddington, London, England; and his birth was recorded at Kensington Registration district in the December quarter 1884.1,3 He was the son of Alexander Mosely MRCS and Leah Keyser.1 John Alfred Morley appeared on the census of 5 April 1891 at 25 Craven Hill Gardens, Bayswater, London, England, as Son, age 6, birthplace Paddington, London, and he was a Scholar.1 He appeared on the census of 31 March 1901 at 25 Craven Hill Gardens, Bayswater, London, England, as Son, age 16, birthplace Paddington, London.4 He appeared on the census of 2 April 1911 at 25 Craven Hill Gardens, Paddington, London, England, as Son, age 26, single, birthplace Paddington, and he was a Solicitor.5

He married Sybil Falconer Cocks in 1915 at London, England; and their mariage was recorded at Hampstead Registration district in the June quarter 1915.6 John Alfred Morley was listed during the Great War [WWI] in the London Gazette of 16 February 1917 as Cadet John Alfred Morley to become a Second Lieutenant (on probation) in the Army Ordnance Department from 12 January 1917.7

He was executor to his mother and the 1926 National Probate Calendar records: 'Morley Leah of 25 Craven Hill-gardens Hyde Park Middlesex widow died 18 January 1926 Probate London 26 February 1926 to Ernest Morley esquire Frank Morley dentist Arthur Solomon Morley physician and John Alfred Morley solicitor' on 26 February 1926.8 He was executor to his brother and the 1928 National Probate Calendar records: 'Morley Ernest of 42 Cleveland-square Bayswater Middlesex died 1 December 1927 Probate London 19 January 1928 to Frank Morley dentist Arthur Solomon Morley physician and John Alfred Morley solicitor' on 19 January 1928.8 He was recorded in the London Gazette of 15 February 1929 and 23 August 1932; (the firm had various addresses: Wealdstone Harrow Middx, Liverpool etc and several entries).

at Pierron and Morley, Solicitors, 11-12 Southcombe Street, Hammersmith Road, London, England.9 He and Sybil Falconer Cocks lived on 29 September 1939 at Peel Road, Harrow, Middlesex, England; where they were on the 1939 Register, when he was a Solicitor.3 John Alfred Morley was executor for his brother Frank Morley of Reading on 3 April 1942.10 He was executor for his wife at London Registry on 9 August 1950.8 He died on 14 January 1952 at Middlesex, England, at age 67; and his death was recorded at Harrow Registration district in the March quarter 1952.8,11 His estate was probated on 3 April 1952; and the National Probate Calendar for 1952 records he was of 'Vine Cottage 86 Peel-road Wealdstone Middlesex' and Probate was granted at London 'to Ian Lisle MacGregor solicitor and Guiseppe Umberto Salvi wine merchant.8'

An announcement was published in The Times on 11 April 1989.1,7 Sir Edward John Francis Dashwood 12th Bt was 'educated at Eton College, Eton, Berkshire, England.
